From November 7–9, 2025, the Kigali Convention Centre will transform into Africa’s beating heart of blockchain and AI innovation. The Africa Blockchain Festival (ABF) is a statement, a movement, and a blueprint for Africa’s digital future.
We are Africa’s premier AI & Blockchain event built by Africans, for Africa, with a global audience. Our mission is simple: to position Africa as a global leader in emerging technologies. We do this by focusing on three key pillars: deal-making, policy, and practical solutions.
For years, the narrative around Africa’s tech scene has focused on potential. We are here to prove that the potential is already being realized. We have seen a surge in on-chain activity and venture capital. The continent’s youthful and digitally native population is its greatest asset. The ABF will serve as the platform where this energy meets global capital and strategic policy. It will create a new path for sustainable growth.
Why ABF Matters Now
The timing for ABF is critical. We have seen a major shift in the African tech landscape.
- Blockchain Adoption: We have seen blockchain adoption accelerate across Africa. This includes cross-border payments in Nigeria and land registry pilots in Ghana. Nigeria’s SEC licensing of crypto exchanges signals a new era of regulatory clarity.
- AI Innovation: AI innovation is gaining traction. AI hubs are emerging in Rwanda, Kenya, and South Africa. The Gates Foundation’s pledge of $7.5M to support an AI hub in Kigali shows this trend. It highlights the potential for AI in Africa.
- Growing Investment: Despite global market slowdowns, African blockchain startups are attracting significant funding. In 2024, African blockchain startups attracted $34.7M in funding. This happened across 12 deals, showing strong investor confidence.
We are bringing together over 1,000 delegates. They will come from across the continent and around the world. The delegates will be visionaries, innovators, investors, and policy leaders. They will be corporate leaders and grassroots communities.
Programming Highlights:
- Keynotes & Panels: Global thought leaders and African pioneers will share their insights. Topics will include blockchain policy and AI ethics.
- Hackathon: Africa’s brightest developers will come together to build real-world solutions..
- Startup Pitch Competitions: We will connect Africa’s best AI/blockchain startups to funding opportunities.
- Exhibition Hall: A showcase of cutting-edge innovations from Africa and around the world.
- Policy Roundtables: A unique platform for direct dialogue between government and industry.
More Than an Event, a Legacy Project
The ABF is designed for impact beyond the stage. We will match investors with startups, accelerate policy adoption by providing governments with actionable frameworks and connect African founders with global tech networks. Through mentorship, hackathons, and internships, we will support youth talent.
Why Kigali?
Kigali is symbolic of resilience, transformation, and leadership. Rwanda’s ICT policies, investment in AI infrastructure, and business environment make it an ideal host. The Government of Rwanda is partnering with us. The Honorable Minister of ICT, Paula Ingabire, has pledged full support. She has integrated ABF into the country’s innovation agenda.
If you are an AI or blockchain founder, investor, policymaker, or technology enthusiast, ABF is your platform. You can connect, collaborate, and contribute to policies that shape Africa’s tech future.
This is the Africa Blockchain Renaissance. It starts in Kigali. Will you be there?
